the same interview? Leahy slammed Chertoff, making it clear that Chertoff would have a very tough time.

Also, I heard him earlier today state that the WH was going to hear from Dems about acceptable candidates, and he made it crystal clear that the investigation of the firings of the fed prosecutors was not going to end.

Oh, and if you think that Gonzo would have stepped down without the work of Leahy and others on the SJC, you're sorely mistaken.

I'm a little sick of the piling on as concerns Leahy. He's held hard hitting hearings, he's conducting the investigations that are so sorely needed, he's fought against the FISA authorization, he's tried to change our attitude and support of Israel, he's worked to restore Habeas. And I could go on.

I think he gets hamstrung by the rest of the DINOs, but Leahy is OK in my book.

because I have confidence that Sen. Leahy will give Skeletor a thorough grilling.



I also believe that Gone-zo would never have resigned unless Sen. Leahy hadn't brought pressure to bear.
