15. actually, i don't agree with the bigot that wants to eradicate islam....

....he thinks his religion is the only truth and all others are evil. i don't favor one religion over the other. i think they're all political tools designed to manipulate weak people. i don't care what any person believes in. i just think that organized religions that push their weight around and try to control others should be ignored, banished, eradicated, whatever.

you obviously don't feel that way. maybe you find comfort in religion and feel it's the only way to express your spirituality. that's fine. no need to call me a bigot, though.

16. You're not a bigot. I'm just pointing out a contradiction in our liberal culture.

If we hear about an indigenous group, whose traditional culture and spiritual practices are being wiped by westernization, we tend to side with them...while siding with the secular against our own traditional cultural spiritual practices, which are no less tribal or 'superstitious' than any indigenous culture.

I'm just pointing out that we have to go one way or another...either we believe that scientific secularism should be advanced for all people, even wiping out indigenous cultures, or we have to believe in religious tolerance and recognize that it also means accepting the fundies.
