Be nice!
The Republicans have, on more than one occasion, trotted out a new phrase... "Criminalizing politics." In fact, I seem to remember it ushering from the noxious pit that is Tom Delay's mouth. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

Now Gonzalez is retiring under a haze of contention and we're hearing from the White House that he's leaving because the "trials" are affecting Justice Department morale.

They probably mean the congressional investigations surrounding the prosecutor firings, but, hey, why quibble, right? He's gone, they're whining (as usual) and now we just have to wait to see what kind of corrupt crony gets chosen to fill his shoes.

It's amazing that they actually expect the Democrats to go easy on them. They expect them to play nice when the last several years have been a morality play detailing 'what not to do in government.' They accuse US of criminalizing politics when, in reality, all they've been doing is politicizing crime.

Guess what, folks...it's still crime, even if you do it under the cover of political manuevering. We're not go to go easy on you because you whine and cry about it.

"Be nice?"

Not on your life.

Better duck and cover. We're just getting started.

1. Do you honestly believe the Dems AREN'T going to go easy on them?
What part of the Democrats' recent history could possibly cause you to think that?

7. What part?
How about the part where the Democratic leadership has been at the forefront of getting criminal charges to be brought against the whole Republican Mafia... no wait..... damn hallucinations again...

2. Who is just getting started?
The Dems who gave the worst president ever FISA?

The Dems who aren't ending the war?

The Dems who took impeachment off the table?

Who do you expect to fight back? Sure would like to see it but I am not holding my breath and expecting fireworks.

6. who initiated the inquries which led to the resignation?
who is pressing the investigations which have pressured the WH to this point?

Did Gonzales' resignation really occur in the vacuum you pretend? The lengths some folks go to criticize Democrats are amazing. Even to the point of dismissing the efforts which lead to the uncovering of the crimes and abuses they profess to be so concerned with.

10. mostly republicans
Edited on Mon Aug-27-07 07:35 PM by bigtree
the majority of our party voted against the FISA changes

What, precisely is your purpose in portraying everything our party does through the lens of those actions they've *taken that you disagree with? Your effort here is neither illustrative nor informative. It's just nagging.

11. And if the Dems had NOT voted to approve it we wouldn't have it, now would we?
My purpose is to preserve our democracy. We have an enemy trying to destroy it. It's time (past time) for our Dems to stand up to the thugs. Sorry if you don't see that.
