bit too easy. First Gonzo, his protector, resigns. He then appoints Clement as interim AG "until Congress can confirm his replacement". Which indicates that there will be no recess appointment of a replacement. And Congress is sure to vet very carefully a replacement who will NOT ignore subpoena violations and who will NOT refuse to turn over relevant documents and email mails sought by congressional oversight committees and investigations.

Paraguay?

6. You know, all the talk about congressional Dems refusal
to act on impeachment has left me wondering the whole time whether or not they have something bigger, something better.

Afterall, we have been given inside information on investigations going on that are not public knowledge from DUers such as CorpGovActivist, though we must be careful of such sources due to the fact that at he has disappeared and there's really no way of knowing what his motives truly are with regard to his participation here some months ago. But then again his disappearance is just as likely due to foul play. Unfortunately, we just don't know.

In any case, I've tried to stay away from the impeachment debate instead choosing to hope that there something bigger in the works that is unbeknownst to us, the lay public.

2. You misunderestimate the spinelessness of the Senate dems
The warning signs were there in both the roberts and alito Supreme Court nominations. Unfortunately many of our senators ignored them and jumped backwards through their own assholes to vote to confirm them.

I don't have a lot of confidence that the Senate will hang tough.

3. exactly
and then Clement will stay on as interim AG to the end of *'s term because * allegedly won't be able to find anyone that damn Democratic Senate will confirm, so the American people suffer because of the Dem's "partisanship". The repug candidates then pick up that theme and cry about the divisiveness the Dems are guilty of and how the people's work isn't being done. * doesn't have the yolk of Gonzo around his neck, he gets a * flack in as "interim AG" and he gets to maybe get some sympathy 'cause the Dems won't let him pick a good person.

The Dems need to call him on it and call him on it FAST!

7. Does Clement want to obstruct justice in his interim role?
It's his choice.

None of this is good news for Bush and BushCo. The firewall is GONE!
