It must be important for them to have this out front this week. Usually, they would wait until Friday late afternoon to announce something like this, especially on a holiday weekend. Why on a Monday?

It makes you wonder about a recess appointment, if they wait until the end of the week, Congress may be back in session before he could recess appoint.

1. Rove and Gonzo suddenly bail within weeks of each other. Something's up.
Something legal and very serious.

I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope.

6. With Snow, I think it's the cancer
He's been looking pretty bad lately, and he has young kids. So he may be the only one of the bunch who actually DOES want to spend more time with his family, before it's too late.

7. Agreed. And that position doesn't need Senate approval.
Or maybe he doesn't want to spend the last days lying. Whatever the reason, I think Tony did the right thing, and I wish him well.

13. Yeah, it was probably the first and last time Snow ever did the right thing, though.

4. I am inclined to think that is a real possibility
with the rash of resignations/retirements in the White House.
It is rumored that besides the Scooter fiasco, Chee-knee and
Rove did not agree on what course of action to take on Iran.

5. Because the whole idea of the "newsdump" is bullshit?
Maybe DUers should stop believing in things they hear on the West Wing?

10. Something else must be cooking
Otherwise Gonzales would never be gone. Something that would cause Rove, Snow, and now Gonzales to resign. Hm, just what is it?

12. because
like the Rove resignation, this isn't something that can be hidden in a bunch of other news.

It's big news - it's not like people weren't going to notice if they announced on Friday.
