So. Uber-conservative and holy moly Pat Boone admits infidelity to wife
Edited on Mon Aug-27-07 12:03 AM by Bluebear

Glory Train! The Jesus People! "Born Again"! American Glory!

So after lecturing the rest of us for decades he reveals to "Inside Edition" that he was unfaithful to his wife and 30 millions dollars in debt at one point . . .

===
Charlotte, N.C. (CNSNews.com) - Entertainer Pat Boone Thursday urged pro-lifers to continue their fight for life. "We do not have to succumb to the theme that deluges us and our young people and is constant in television, music and radio and books and even schools and drugs and violence and all that permeates our society," he told the National Right to Life Committee's annual convention here.

Boone blamed the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision for the coarsening of America.

"Truly, I think that this and all these other evils that we have to contend with are related to the insensitivity that has crept through our society since 1973," when the Supreme Court handed down its decision legalizing abortion.

After all, if a teenage girl or a woman, even a rape victim can just callously scrape or suction that life away and go on, then maybe other moral guidelines don't have the force that they used to have. Maybe life is not as important as we used to think and it works its insidious way through society."
===
From his blog:

I couldn't believe my eyes and ears.

Here was the very liberal senator from New York, wife of the former president, part of the team that favored partial-birth abortion – in fact, abortion as a "woman's choice" under virtually any circumstance. Weren't she and Bill pretty consistent supporters of same-sex "marriage" and multiple homosexual "rights," and champions of the much perverted and misapplied "separation of church and state" slogan? Was this the same person now using the Bible and well known Bible parables and names in vigorous statements advocating governmental policy?

And what was she using to drive her argument home? Scripture! Reference to Jesus of Nazareth! It was a scene worthy of the "Twilight Zone"!

Of course, "using" is the operative word here.

Please, Sister, turn the page: "If the foundations be destroyed, what will the righteous do?" – Psalms 11:3

2. "even a rape victim...."
No, Pat, a rape victim should not be burdened with dealing with the results of a rape for 40-50 years. What a twisted morality these people have.

6. I agree a woman should be able to make the choice.
This is a view long held by the anti-abortionists. My birth mother was raped and then had me. My 17 yr old was also the result of rape. I chose to give birth to him. My birth mother never had a choice.

So Pat Boone stick it where the sun don't shine!!!!!!!!!!

3. That's funny. One of the reasons his Hollywood career was
short-lived was because he refused to kiss the leading lady in one of his early films because he was married. This was when there was still censorship and there was no nudity or steamy love scenes in movies, just the long kiss.

4. Another phony for all the world to see.
I used to even think about these sorts of people, "well, if that is what floats your boat"...

now I look at someone who claims a devout existence and lectures everyone else with the greatest amount of suspicion.

22. Not true
That was "April Love" with Shirley Jones, and I'm pretty sure he did give her at least a peck on the cheek.

Incidentally, according to both him and his wife (also named Shirley) that whole thing was a big publicity stunt. In reality, he had told her that as an actor, he'd probably have to kiss his leading ladies from time to time since he was going to be a romantic leading man. She told him as long as it was only on the screen, it was okay with her. But the studio thought the "fine young upstanding Christian husband and father agonizes over whether or not to kiss other woman in movie" would be a great selling point.

23. Actually, the movie was "Bernardine" and I think the actress
was Terry Moore. He really did refuse to kiss in that movie. I don't know about "April Love", but he didn't make any more movies that I remember after that, so I think it was more than a publicity stunt although his publicity people probably wanted it to seem to be that.

How much in royalties to you think he paid Fats Domino, Little Richard, etc. to record their songs?

11. Good Golly, Miss Molly -- Little Richard !!!!
Pat Boone is an idiot -- and from what I read of him and his wife in their earliest days, I would suggest that they suffer brain damage from religious indoctrination. Who ever said religion was good for mental health????

14. That's really old news
He admitted to being unfaithful many years ago. Basically he got caught up in the "Hollywood lifestyle". He's actually talked about it quite a few times. And the bankruptcy thing was big news I think back in the 1980's.

15. Well I had never heard about it and my criticism stands.
If this ass wants to comment on homosexual "marriage" (his snarky quotation marks) he lost all right to after this.

"Sanctity of marriage" my ass.

24. For the last 15 years or so this shitheel has made his living convincing
senior citizens to give their money to all kinds of charlatans from "collectible" gold coins (at a 50% markup) to a variety of insurance company scams.

There is no depth to which he will not stoop to enrich himself at the expense of others.
