Does "God"/"Mother Nature" HATE THE RED STATES?
In 2007 it seems the redder the state the worse the weather is. Texas, heat waves, floods, heat wave, floods, toranados etc. Ohio. Floods, heat waves, tornados etc. Fires raging in many states.... The list goes on and on.

Now I am not a big bible reader, but isn't there some passage that adresses this? About bad people being swept off the earth by floods, famine, pestilence etc?

While out here in Sunny CA we have almost perfect weather. It has only been over 100 degress this year a coule of times compared to usual summers of 20 plus days.

2. Well, all I know is state officials get federal funds after a big disaster.
What happens to the money is anyone's guess.

I always thought the disasters were rewards for certain red state people.

3. Chicago just experienced some of the worst rainstorms in its history.
I thought we were gonna stop the whole "God is punishing the red states" nonsense after 2004. It's just as offensive when Pat Robertson says the same shit about the blue states.

4.  Hey, there's there's been a lot of flooding in blue states
Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois this summer, are we bad people too? This line of "reasoning" should have died with Jerry Farwell.

6. Whoa. Your thread is no better than the fundies who claimed that Katrina was...
punishment for the "sins" of New Orleans and Biloxi.

A lot of good liberal DUers live in those red states.

Also, if I wanted to take the time or make the effort, I could demonstrate that "blue states" have had their share of natural disasters, too. But then that'd put me in league with the fundies who see natural occurences as "God's wrath."

Haven't we learned ANYTHING since the time of the Mesopotamians? They thought that the gods punished them with natural disaster, too. And here we are, 5000 years later....

13. We are not hypocrites...
And my mom has pretty much lost everything in the flood, and her bad luck is spilling over to the rest of the family. It's not just republicans who were hurt in this mess...
