If C-SPAN has tought me anything....

It is that the only reason for the modern Republican Party to exist is to be a safe haven for any greedy, ugly-spirited and reprehensible asshole who has money falling out of their pockets to find a way to congregate with other greedy, ugly-spirited and reprehensible assholes with cash-on-hand.

It's like asshole magnetism.

Oh yeah... THAT and the fact that these idiotic, bottom-feeding scumbags have, at the very least, the minimum amount of neurons scurrying around in their grizzled central nervous systems in order to navigate the safe use of both a TV remote control AND a telephone without their heads exploding from the sensory overload.

Amazing, but true.

I would have never believed that there were so many people that are as horrible as they are if I hadn't heard them with my own ears.

Momma didn't train me for this onslaught. They're everywhere.



So, what has C-SPAN taught you?

1. that my failure to understand the 28% glue-sniffing, bible beating,

neocon-thinking, brain-dead, GOP-loving conservatives in this country really do exist. I used to try to ignore them, otherwise my ears would start smoking in conversations. Now, because of CSPAN call-ins, I hear every morning just how BATSHIT INSANE a large minority in our country truly is. It has changed my view of this country. I can see our future is dim because there are so many of them.

2. That phone banks and reading from Republican play-cards plays a large part in public discourse

When caller after caller uses exactly the same phrases, when they jam up all three lines on the call in segments of shows, when the spout their hatred in lock step, when all these things happen it teaches me that they are a well organized enemy of the state and the people.

4. It's like an endless feedback loop, isn't it?

3. If I ever blow up my tv, it will be during WJ on C-Span

I first started watching this drivel about 6 years ago, and I have to say, they have gone lower than I could have imagined. I just don't believe these "people" are able, on their own volition, to pick up that phone and dial that many numbers.

6. In the deep South, many years ago, there were people who believed that

if we went into outer space, it would mess up the weather. I hear the same people on WJ. They will believe anything, as long as it's not supported by science.
