3. Hmmm...The helmut is Roman. * has been called "Little Boots" which was Caligula's nickname.
Caligula, the crazy monster emperor. Cleaver.

6. Hasn't the helmet been losing, um,
"bristles", over the years as his popularity has tanked?

5. Especially that it's served in a tub
Reminds me of parties I went to in college.

8. That was how it was served up in Jonestown.
I hope people haven't forgotten the tragedy that spawned the phrase.

9. Oh damn, sorry
I was about 5 at the time of Jonestown. I assumed Trudeau was making fun of ill-cultured people who drink their booze out of bathtubs and washtubs.

10. No need to apologize.
I'm so old, it seems like yesterday. It was such a shocking thing to happen. But anyway, that's what they did -- brought out washtubs full of kool-aid laced with cyanide; the faithful fed it to their kids before drinking it down, the doubters had to be convinced with firearms, if necessary.

Jim Jones had tape recorders running throughout his time there, so there is an audio record, plus the survivors' tales. NPR did a documentary on it back in the late 70s or very early 80s.

We throw the phrase around too easily sometimes; here I think Trudeau gets to the heart of the matter, equating * with Jones, both of whom are/were insane.
