I support Impeachment and a new Fairness Doctrine more than ever
After Bush's speech today, the RW is fired up and they control the airwaves. They are starting a new add campaign that is prowar anti-Democrat and the sad thing is that the Dems can do little to counter it because they continue not favor A NEW IMPROVED FAIRNESS DOCTRINE that would guarantee them a chance to compete and respond over the airwaves - most of which they are shut out of. Talk radio is the RW's domain and the dems have been relegated to the fringes.

1. I just don't get where the Dems are coming from.
They were voted in to restore some balance, and FIX THE PROBLEMS that are inherent with the Bush Administration.

And what do they do?

Oh, they get the minimum wage increased - not as quickly as it needed to be perhaps, but better than nothing.

They start a slew of investigations, hold hearings, send out subpoenas, etc.

And then...they fund the Iraq war again. Bush won that battle.

And the subpoenas they sent out were ignored by quite a few under orders from Bush. Another win for Bush, so far.

The GOP right wing propaganda machine is still running at full tilt. And the Dems have done nothing to even things up in this respect. So, the American people, by and large, still believe everything Bill O'Reilly tells them, because there is pretty much no one to contradict him with facts. Olbermann, of course, but that's not enough.

The Dems are wasting away their precious time to fix this crap. Now that Rove will be free to fly under the radar, there's no telling what new crap will be pulled by the Republicans.

The Democrats need to start playing hardball. They need to put impeachment on the table, and they need to say so. Yes, that includes you, Pelosi. And they need to send out the Sergeant of Arms to drag in Condi and Harriet and all the others who have ignored subpoenas. They need to let Bush know that the bullshit stops NOW.

That will get press coverage. And it will shine the spotlight on the Republicans, which they definitely do not want to happen.

An updated Fairness Doctrine is one of the very first things they should have done. They are fools to think what most Americans get as news today is anything short of Republican propaganda, designed to make them feel good about all the bad things going on in the world today.

2. Impeachment Isn't On the Table Because There Isn't Any Table
Bush** is still making the Democrats eat on the floor.
