Priest specifically prayed during Sunday mass for Roe v. Wade to be overturned
It struck me as a little odd - at the 5:30 p.m. mass on Sunday Aug. 19, at the Catholic church 'Mission San Diego de Alcalá' (the first of California's string of 21 missions) the priest speficially said a prayer that Roe v. Wade be overturned. During the "general intercessions" portion about halfway through the mass, where a litany of prayer requests is recited by a lector, including names of parishoners who are sick or have died, and so forth - the priest added an intercession of his own and specifically prayed out loud to the congregation that Roe v. Wade be overturned. This is the first time I have ever heard a priest openly pray for that explicity during mass... and I have been going off an on for 40 years (although I only go now to take my 88-year-old mother to mass, and I just sit there next to her and don't say anything or participate). It struck me as odd - I have often heard general prayers for the "rights of the pre-born" as they call it now, but never an explicit prayer thar R v W be overturned.

1. I'd put a receipt for a donation to Planned Parenthood in the collection plate.

2. Very good - I could put anything in one of those anonymous little envelopes.
I thought of writing a note about it, but I like your idea better.

3. Maybe next week they'll pray to get health care to kids who
are already out of the womb... Oh wait, what am I thinking, once you are out you need to pull yourself up by your wittle booties.

4. They always say that whatever happens is "God's will." It's "God's will" that some people suffer.

5. It's not the first time I've heard of this... but only pretty recently
I mean, like, only in the last year or so.. as Catholics go.

But it seems to be propagating.
