1. *Sigh*
Schools in MN can't start until after Labor Day, as a concession to resort owners.

No happy mom here until the 5th. :(

But seriously, folks--there was a Cosby show where one of Theo's teachers visited, and he complained endlessly about what a mean old witch she was. The teacher was played by Sonia Braga!

4. She looks tame compared to the Nuns
I spent ten years with. Gr 0 to Gr 9. Many many many years ago.

Anyone remember the Strap or the yard stick.

Back when corporal punishment was the norm.

The education and legal system today......no wonder your not a teacher (my opinion).

6. I had a friend who never got over the humiliation (and pain)...
of being literally pulled out of chapel by his ear for whispering.

There has to be some balance between that kind of "discipline" and today, when the kids who want to learn, can't, because of oversized classes and unruly classmates.

7. Well, I'm not a teacher because in this country....
teachers are expected to be psychiatrists, mothers, bankers, social workers, truant and police officers, and sometimes even doctors. Kids here have major problems, and it's not their fault. It's the culture which has developed due to the lack of humanity in savage, unrestrained capitalism.
