Obama Statement on Signing of New Memorandum of Understanding With Israel
Obama Statement on Signing of New Memorandum of Understanding With Israel
Thursday, August 16, 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Obama Press Office 202-228-5566

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) today released the following statement on the news that the United States agreed to provide $30 billion in military aid to Israel over the next decade:

“The Administration's failed policies in Iraq, in a war that never should have been authorized, have strengthened Iran and emboldened Hamas and Hezbollah. That makes it more important than ever that the United States live up to its commitment to ensure Israel's qualitative military edge in a dangerous region. For that reason, I support the agreement on military assistance reached today.”

1. That is the problem.
We give Israel more money for weapons and the Russians and Chinese give the Arabic states money for weapons. It's a never ending cycle. Peace would be much cheaper for everyone concerned. I propose we kick the ass of any country that starts a war.

3. For 60 yrs now ...
this vicious cycle has repeated itself. How many revolutions must the cycle make before it collapses on itself?

4. And they all fall to their knees for Israel.

over and over

I remember when lindsay graham added an amendment to some Iraq war funding bill a couple years ago that stated we attacked Iraq in part because Iraq was a threat to Israel. Think about that. Are we starting wars and fighting wars at the behest of a foreign nation? When we go to war, if it is absolutely necessary, shouldn't it be our country we are asking our kids to die for?

The subservience of our politicians to a foreign government irks me to no end.
