In this event from the Commonwealth Club, Kristin Gore, daughter of Al and Tipper Gore, discusses her upbringing as the daughter of a Vice President, including how she coped with secret service protection and her father's unsuccessful 2000 campaign for president. Kristin Gore drew on her experiences in Washington in writing her new novel, "Sammy's House," about a White House health care adviser.

Kristin Gore is the daughter of Al and Tipper Gore. She wrote for the Harvard Lampoon while a student at Harvard. She went on to write for several television shows, including Saturday Night Live and Futurama. Her first novel, "Sammy's Hill," is being developed as a motion picture by Columbia Pictures.
