5. Simple. He didn't know that it would cost more that $20,000 in
mouthwash just to get the sh*tty taste out after each press conference.

11. Well I do think he is leaving because he is sick but....
I have a question - he says he planned on leaving when his money ran out - and supposedly he has kids about to go to college - I have to assume he made mega bucks when he worked at FOX - wouldn't he prepare for college expenses - as in saving for it - when he was making mega bucks....depending on the size of his family 168K in the DC area isn't rich - but should be comfortable

13. I personally would LIE MY ASS OFF for 168 large per year.
In fact I'd settle for a flat 100 g's, and lie about it later.

Matter a fact, there is no price you could pay me to stand up and bald face lie to peoples faces day after day.

15. Well, maybe he is discovering, like millions of others in this country, that when your sick
your health insurance doesn't cover everything and when you have major health problems--even with health insurance you can still owe big $$

16. He didn't want to die and be remembered only as a flak for Junior.

It's Lee Atwater syndrome, IMO. Snow doesn't want his family saddled with the legacy of a blow-dried stooge who lied and dissembled for the likes of the Bush/Cheney administration. He's cleaning himself up for his family and for the next show.

18. Because he's probably
going to be out of pocket many thousands of dollars for his cancer treatment. See, we live in a country with the best health care in the world, thank god we don't have socialized medicine like that awful France or Canada. Only ungrateful American-hating whiners point out that this is the only country where people can go bankrupt to pay for medical costs.

Actually, I'm inclined to think that he's tired of the job and wants out. Plus, even without his health situation, he can no doubt make buckets more money elsewhere.

21. Tired of the job? No way! He loves every minute of it and I'm sure that
he'd do it till Bush's last day in office, if his health could hold out.
It feeds his ego to be able to talk down to all those WH reporters
every day and to do Bush's bidding.

I think he may just be running out of steam because of his cancer
because I think he is one of the True Believers, and will be till the end.

20. Isn't it great to be a bush crony?
Anyone else would have a hard time convincing a potential employer to hire them in the last stages of cancer.

23. I'm sure he's leaving because he's dying
By saying that it was about the $ cuts down on the media's speculation on how much time he has left, etc.

I'm sorry for him and for his family and I wish them well.
