When Hell Freezes Over, maybe there is hope!

MY brother is a lifelong Republican. Not just a Republican, but a right wing nut job, Clinton-hating, card carrying George W. Bush lover. He didn't just drink the kool-aid, he bleeds it. He watches Fox News Channel and listens to Rush Limbaugh and believes what he sees and hears. We have screaming debates so bad that one time we didn't speak for about 8 months. I finally realized that you cant reason with ignorance. We agreed to disagree and politics is not allowed at family gatherings and we get along great.

Well it's happened. HELL FROZE OVER! My brother has changed his political affiliation to Independent. He said "It kills me to say this, but you were right. Bush lied us into this war, he's incompetent, the republicans have let him run this country into the ground". The 8 yr old in me wanted to point at him and say 'neener neener neener' and do a victory dance. The adult in me took over and said "I'm proud of you, it's about time". Watching the realization light bulbs come on as he emerges from his kool-aid induced coma is great. He was a part of the Republican base that now seems to be crumbling on all sides. There is hope for everyone who has a right wing nut job relative. George Bush, losing the base one Republican at a time.
