Their bullshit IS hysterical, though--from Hillary Watch to "High Energy Prices Aren't ALL that BAD" they're a wealth of fetid, stinking rightwing crap!!!! Seriously--I clip their shit, so you don't have to: http://www.humanevents.com/about-he.php HUMAN EVENTS is the home of Jihad Watch - the fearless watchdog column that alerts you to the true intentions and deadly plots of the greatest threat to world peace since the fall of the Soviet Union. Hillary Watch, another exclusive service, keeps you fully informed of the ongoing schemes, intrigues and Clintonian machinations hatched in the name of the woman (and loving hubby) who want to return to the White House in 2008....Keep in mind, all of these revelations appeared in HUMAN EVENTS, but were virtually ignored by the regular media:
Big corporations give more money to liberals. Surprised? Blue-chip companies now give far more money to the Left - although Democrats still cry "poor" and the media still call the GOP "the party of big business."
45% of British Muslims believe the U.S. and Israel planned the 9/11 attacks. This clearly does not square with the media view of Islam as a gentle, rational faith.
American companies recently did $1 billion worth of direct business with Cuba. This story gets no play because the press want you believe a "cruel U.S. business embargo" is the cause of Cuban poverty.
High energy prices are NOT all bad. For the first time in 15 years, the number of new U.S. oil wells drilled tops the 1,000 mark - and exploration is up 35% over last year.
Kyoto Treaty can't alter climate - period. That's what treaty backers admit. Nevertheless, the global press bends over backwards to cover this up.
The North Korean missile launch was helpful - for Red China. Chinese military leaders got a detailed look at U.S. missile defenses - sea, air and land-based detection systems and frequencies used.
Since 9/11, Islamic jihadists have perpetrated not 500, not 2,500, but more than 5,000 terror attacks. Liberals hush-up this number, claiming the truth would provoke "reprisals" by "violent" Americans against "peaceful" Muslims.
Their recently fired editor used to edit a White Supremist rag, too--real charmers: http://www.splcenter.org/intel/intelreport/article.jsp?sid=371 Kevin T. Lamb, 43 Mt. Airy, Md.
Until his firing in 2005, Kevin Lamb was an editor who had reached the heights of conservative journalism, serving as managing editor of Human Events magazine and also The Evans-Novak Political Report. That ended after his boss, Thomas White, fired him from both positions after learning from the Southern Poverty Law Center that Lamb was simultaneously editing the white supremacist journal The Occidental Quarterly. After his firing, Lamb wrote a bitter essay saying that several fellow employees had known of his work for the racist quarterly, including Al Regnery, the conservative publisher who owns Human Events and The Evans-Novak Report. In fact, Lamb had written for racist publications going all the way back to the early 1990s, when he published works in Mankind Quarterly. He also edited a 2002 book on Glayde Whitney, a racist academic who once wrote a fawning introduction for former Klan leader David Duke. Today, Lamb, a graduate of Indiana University with a political science degree, continues as editor of The Occidental Quarterly and is also the communications director for the National Policy Institute, a racist think tank, both of which were started by William H. Regnery, a cousin of Al Regnery's.
And it gets better--the guy accuses his rightwing pals of being LEFTIES because they dumped him. No shit!!!!! http://www.vdare.com/misc/050922_lamb_events.htm
Again, I click and clip the skanky HATEso you don't have to:
This betrays the modern mindset of the Human Events editors: Focus exclusively on "energy policy" wonkery and avoid the notorious lawlessness that flourished in New Orleans —murder, rapes, assaults, pillaging and looting—because that might mean mentioning its racial component.
As the former managing editor of Human Events, I can recall several instances in editorial meetings and private discussions in which race was simmering just below the surface—whether crime rates in the nation’s capital, immigration, or educational disparities in student achievement. When the conversation became increasingly awkward, one of the other top editors would caution: "I suppose we shouldn’t discuss that." Then they would quickly move on to a safer subject.
Mind you, this is from a group of conservative editors who would frequently boast of taking brave stands on other topics....Politically correct radical egalitarianism—the belief that there are no natural differences between human groups—now reigns as unchallenged in the salons of the Conservative Establishment, as it does everywhere else in America’s political and social elites.
Last January I was forced out of my job at Eagle Publishing (home of the Conservative Book Club, Human Events, and Regnery Publishing) after serving nearly three years as managing editor of Human Events. The reason: editing, entirely on my own free time, another publication, The Occidental Quarterly (TOQ), that addresses important cultural, racial, ethnic, and political issues facing the future of Western civilization.
My work performance at Human Events was never questioned. I enjoyed my work, got along well with the editors, valued the camaraderie and good will of my colleagues at Eagle, and always put forth my best effort to meet my employer’s expectations to produce a solid, informative conservative weekly newspaper. Other staff members freelanced regularly on the side without losing their jobs.
However, one afternoon the Southern Poverty Law Center, the fanatical left-wing enforcer organization, called my office supervisors to inquire about my work for Human Events, the Evans and Novak Political Report (an Eagle newsletter), and a "white supremacist" publication (TOQ).
Waaah, waaaah, waaah!!! Another one of their editors was bounced for plagiarism!!
And of course, the hapless Bob Novak was up to his broken hip with those assholes, carrying their fetid water, and it came back to bite him, didn't it? But hey, they gave his worthless kid a job:
http://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2004/10/01/novak/index.html But Novak's son's employment at Regnery, revealed by the New York Times on Aug. 30, isn't Novak's only tie to the Washington publisher of conservative polemics. Novak also has a long-standing professional and personal relationship that he did not reveal -- with Regnery's owner, newsletter magnate Tom Phillips. Phillips owns Eagle Publishing, whose subsidiaries include Regnery; Human Events, a 60-year-old conservative newsweekly; and the Evans-Novak Political Report, Novak's subscription-based newsletter ($297 a year). In addition, Novak is an unpaid member of the board of Phillips' private foundation, the Phillips Foundation, which awards journalism fellowships to young conservatives.
