Please Cast your vote in the Roadblock Republicans radio contest!!
Edited on Thu Aug-16-07 02:16 PM by Breeze54

Thousands of radio scripts were submitted for the Roadblock Republicans radio contest.

We've chosen twenty outstanding scripts, and we want you to choose the winner!

Let the voting begin! Here are the top 20 finalists in our radio contest.

Now it's time for all of you to choose the winner.

Your choice will be the radio spot we create to air in the states of the Roadblock Republicans.

These are just 'reads' of the final script, not actual spots, as you'll see.

We had the same voice read all 20 so you could choose based solely on the quality of the script.

Thanks!

When we asked for scripts from all of you for an ad targeting the Roadblock Republicans,
we knew we'd get some passionate, powerful writing.

But we had no idea the magnitude of a response we'd get.

You sent us over ten thousand scripts, ranging from personal testimonials to powerful
messages to imaginative and creative concepts. And sometimes all in the same script.

We were overwhelmed by the response.

Getting the huge number of scripts down to a manageable 20 for the voting round wasn't
easy, but we've done it. And now, it's up to you.

Which of the scripts will we air in the states of the Roadblock Republicans?

http://action.keepingamericaspromise.com/roadblockvote">Go here to read the scripts,
listen to someone reading each one, and vote for up to three of your favorites.

The top vote-getter will be chosen as the winner, and we'll produce the full spot and air
it in the states of the Roadblock Republicans as we get close to the fall showdowns over
changing course in Iraq.

The audio files on the voting page aren't the full spots, as you'll see. We had one of our
staffers read each one, so you could choose based on the quality of the script and not the
quality of the voice.

It's an important choice; we're leaving it completely up to you.
Which spot do you think will be the most effective in convincing your fellow citizens
that rubberstamping George Bush's Iraq policies is reason to be voted out of office?

Make your choice, and we'll follow your lead.

So go here to vote.

Congratulations if you're one of our 20 finalists.

All of these scripts are great, as were so many others that we got.

Thanks to everyone who sent in a script. It was heartening to see so
many putting such effort into getting our country on the right track.

Thank you,

John Kerry

1. Here's a few that caught my attention ---
It's kind of bizarre though, to click on what a woman wrote and hear a mans voice!

10. by Lynda V. of Lowell, MA.

"If your brother is in danger, would a roadblock keep you from helping him?
If your child is reaching to you in need, would you allow someone to build a roadblock in your way?
If not, how can you allow the Republicans in the Senate to build roadblocks that keep our soldiers
from coming home? Vote 2008 for someone who will tear down the roadblocks. Bring our troops home."
Listen

4. by Edwin W. of Nashville, TN.

"I volunteered for the Army in 1968. Now, when I am in Washington, I go to the Wall, and look
for the names of my dead friends, and try not to weep. Someday they will build an Iraq Wall.
Some of those names will be there because Senator _______ put Party above country.
How many more of them can you, or he, stomach?"
Listen

12. by Steven K. of Piedmont, CA.

"Thank you Senator x, for standing firm with President Bush and Vice President Cheney
in your continued support for the war in iraq. It takes a unique mind to ignore the
facts, ignore the news, and ignore the views of most Americans and the people of our
state. The Senate won't be the same without you. Thank God."

2. Another good one!
14. by Guy K. of Woodland, CA.

"Senator keeps voting to stay in Iraq. Even after the president's claims of WMD proved false.
Even after the bipartisan, independent Iraq Study Group recommended phased troop withdrawals.
Even after the National Intelligence Council released a report saying the Iraq war puts America
in greater danger from terrorism. Senator keeps voting to stay in Iraq. What is your vote?"
Listen

20. by David R. of Crown Point, IN.

"Out of touch with reality. Out of touch with America. The Roadblock Republicans.
Making America more prone to terrorism, ballooning the deficit, damaging our credibilty
worldwide, and compromising the future of our children.
The time is now to take down this roadblock on our democracy with your vote.
Listen.
