Al Gore: National Science Advisor '08
Just a thought. It would be more in line with the success he's enjoyed as a climate change advocate. And he's certainly maintained a broad interest in the sciences.

1. A Distinguished Position No Doubt, I Suggested Another
Edited on Tue Aug-14-07 02:41 PM by RestoreGore
I sent a letter to the UN last year regarding instituting the post of Global Environmental Ambassador, and recommending that Mr. Gore be first to hold that post. I'm continuing that effort this year as I believe he IS the man who should lead a worldwide summit to draft a new landmark climate treaty within the next two years. That will take someone who can combine spiritual, scientific, technical, political and moral leadership in one focus with a genuine passion and dedication to the cause and a love for this planet. For me, that person is Al Gore and I believe that would be the achievement he would be remembered for more than anything else.

5. Don't care at this point. I'm more interested in the appointer that the appointee.
The appointer gets to live in a big, white house with columns out front. B-)

6. That's what I thought.
Doesn't seem like many really do care beyond that. Thanks for your honesty.

7. Gore's above National Security Advisor
He's too high profile for that job. Secretary of State might be better.

10. He's already told Larry King he has absolutely no interest
in Secretary of State or any other cabinet post.

He has not said anything as definitive about running for president.

12. If the President asks you to serve, you usually consider it
Edited on Tue Aug-14-07 05:39 PM by Hippo_Tron
Even if you've stated in the past that you have no interest.

And on edit: I mixed up Science and Security Advisor. Still I don't think Gore will wind up in that position.
