5. Rove is Satan? Not a chance. Rove is a slimy prick, not god of the underworld.
Rove will eventually work for a used car dealer; if that doesn't work out, maybe a conservative think tank.

10. What, can you not be a slimy prick, a used car dealer AND leader of the underworld?
Hell, don't limit the guy's options...he's just become unemployed. Gotta keep those options open. Gotta pay some bills...of course, being leader of the underworld is a better gig than selling used cars...

22. No, Satan is actually quite charming; he's intelligent and attractive.
That's what makes him so good at what he does, you know.

Can you imagine ROVE successfully "tempting" anyone
who wasn't a scumbag to begin with? It is to laugh.

7. Rumor is Thompson, but I wouldn't put it past McCain--he's got no pride or dignity left.
But I think the role will not be very big or visible, if he does--Porky Pig is going to have some, uh, legal issues.

16. Can't see Rove as a good fit with Thompson or McCain...
A guy who wants to make kings is not going to want to run off the track with McCain's derailing express and I have no reason other than instinct for saying this, but Rove and Thompson would get along like pigs and whatever pigs don't get along with. My money's still on Gingrich.

20. Rove might be able to rescue McCain, since he's obviously studied
him thoroughly as an opponent and knows his strengths and weaknesses. Thompson is a lackadaisical POS, like the Chimp, who needs some sort of message and rationale to run--someone else (like Rove) can do that for him--Fred just wants to read his script, grab the spotlight, and be a star. Newt? No. Newt is the IDEA MAN! Newt packages and sells Newt. Newt doesn't need anyone else in the driver's seat--Newt himself has turned that over to his ego, anyway.

Any candidate's open association with this assclown would expose him to lots of things -- ridicule, attack, guilt-by-association. It would be a bad move from a P.R. standpoint.

Nevertheless, I'm sure most repub candidates would love to use him for advice, dirty tricks, etc. So I'm thinkin' Rove has already set up some business entity, or maybe a relationship with an existing firm, that he can use for billing purposes. Like Michael Corleone, he's gonna have a lot of "buffers"...

 but just till the Primary. Isn't he good friends with Murdoch the owner of Faux News? I think he already might have been working on the side for LieBerman, so I wouldn't be surprised ... He reminds me of that snickering dog cartoon character edited to add :sarcasm:

24. He's not going to work on anybody's campaign, IMO.
With Bush's poll numbers in the toilet, the GOP is running away from Bush. Bush and Rove are a team, in the public's mind. I will be surprised if Rove is picked up by another campaign.

I think he will still work for Bush in an unofficial role, and that's it. I think he's toast, as far as prsidential politics go. He'll probably wind up on Fox News, as a talking head.

What I HOPE happens, is that he ends up in prison next to Jack Abramoff. That would be 'effin SWEET!!!!
