Can Rove ignore a subpoena now?
Now that he is no long under the protection of executive privilege can't he be forced to appear before Congress? Or does his claim of executive privilege just follow him around wherever he goes?

3. I think so... Harriett Miers did, and she had already resigned the
Bush administration. I think Bush would step up and cover Rove's butt no matter.

4. Anyone can ignore a subpoena....
...the question is: What are the consequences for doing so?

So far, Dirty Harriet has skated free on this.

5. Good point
One can hope that Congress will put a whole lot more pressure on Rove than they did on Miers. Harriet Miers in handcuffs might be a whole lot more distasteful to mainstream America than Karl Rove.

6. yes
The blanket claim of executive privilege by this regime extends to all current and former members of the executive. It is a 100% stonewall, so far unchallenged by our collaborative congress.

8. Remember what executive privilege covers.
It does not cover people, it does not cover things, per se.

It covers communication. If--and that's the question--a communication with Rove was ever under executive privilege, it is still under executive privilege. Think of communications with your doctor or lawyer--your status as their patient or client is irrelevant to whether information about you is confidential.
