2. I'm suddenly reminded of how utterly LAME they were.
Sorry, Progressive Rock blows.

8. I have my prog faves
But Kansas never made the list. "Dust In the Wind" would be pretty appropriate, however.

5. Kansas was always a Jesus band.
They tried to disguise it, much like U2.

10. Lyrically.
Bono and Edge have mentioned it in some interviews. Granted, they're subtle about it.

9. They Didn't Disguise It
Around 1980, a station I was with sponsored a Kansas concert (in their heyday)...before the show Kerry Livgren and several of the roadies went into the backstage men's room and held a prayer vigil. A lot of us chuckled as usually when we went into that mens room we'd encounter all forms of copulation going on...

12. Kansas wasn't subtle, you're right.
U2 was better at the disguise.

7. So Sam is the wayward son?
How does he figure that? Is this one of those times when the conservative politician doesn't know anything about the song or the group like Reagan praising Springsteen's, "Born in the USA," without realizing it was a critical song or Pat Buchanan using, "We Will Rock You," by Queen, whose lead singer was bisexual?

11. Wants to expand pro-life movement to include the "child in Darfur" and child in poverty
The first somewhat decent thing I've heard from a repug all year (although the premise is wrong as far as limiting a woman's right to choose).
