Tweety Just Ripped Romney A New One
I know .... I know... Don't get your hopes up on Tweety... He has more personalities than Sybil but I have seen him reduce people to ashes....

They were discussing Romney's assertion that his five draft age sons are serving the nation by participating in his campaign and that service eliminates their need to serve in Iraq...

1. Was Romney on the show or was this talk among talking heads. Tweety usually DROOLS over Willard.
I'll have to tune in at 6:00.

2. Talking Heads
Tweety doesn't seem like a Romney fan... He's more of a Fred Thompson man... He goes for the Chaps look and not the Polo ...

8. Yeah...
He probably has some fantasy of Fred Thompson, in chaps and little else, fitting him with a ball gag bridle and riding him like a horse.

There are some definite conflicting issues in Tweety's mind.

10. Chris Matthews Is Really Wrapped Up In The Whole Machismo Business
Probably from feelings of his own inadequacy...

9. I've heard him talk about how handsome Willard is. He's fawned over McCain too:
Look at this crap...

MATTHEWS: John McCain won that big fight up there in Michigan back in 2000 against President Bush. Does John McCain still have the power up there that this guy has to take down? There's a lot of Catholics in Michigan. A lot of people there are sort of Reagan Republicans, who like the cut of John McCain's jib, his independence, his maverick reputation. How does Mitt Romney -- the straight arrow -- cut into that?

<...>

BUCHANAN: Everything I know about Romney speaks very well about him. I've got a lot of friends who say he lights up a room when he comes in; he's got a fine personality; he's friendly; he's an extremely handsome man, as his father was; and he's always got a big smile. I think in the personality contest, he's all over Hillary.

MATTHEWS: Well, can he -- he's got a great chin, I've noticed. Does that mean -- is he going to be -- does that mean he might not have a glass jaw, is what I'm asking. Let's take a look here.

BUCHANAN: I'm afraid his dad did.

3. He has a point...I mean, I can't imagine where Romney could possibly find....
...5 people to work on his campaign.
There's only about 140 Million Republicans.

21. And when is that? One interview in 20? When he's not interrupting his guests' attempts to respond?
Matthews is a pathetic ADD-addled excuse for a pundit. He doesn't even begin to approach "journalist" status.

Too much time spent tall and firm in the saddle riding through the rolling sagebrush of Mancrush County, I suspect.

6. Whenever Tweety says something of merit, I am
not watching. He can have valid points but his yelling, his Edwards bashing, his grunting (the loud "Huh)" turn me off. I'm sorry I missed Tweety's comments about Mitts sons. It was Romney's most stupid comment yet.

15. I like Chris Matthews!!
So many around here call him schizo, dual-personality, etc. I call it shooting straight with what he's thinking and asking tough questions of BOTH parties. That's trying to be a good journalist. Consistently spouting a party line isn't the standard a good journalist sets. He's tough on both parties and quite frankly, that tells me he's doing his job. I can trust him.

That seems to insinuate something. Matthews had a long career in Democratic politics. He was Tip O'Neill's Chief of Staff and he, himself, ran for Congress. I don't think saying I like Chris Matthews should evoke a response like that. I, personally, am much more liberal than Matthews, but I like his style of being rough on BOTH parties. There's nothing wrong with my liking that. Shame for insinuating something more sinister.

edit: Corrected spelling on Tip's last name and added last sentence.

and did not hear any press on this until Jon did his bit on the Daily Show. So I ask you, which is the real news program and which is the fake news show?

12. They should all walk into...
A bar in FayetteNam, 29 Pines, or Hampton Roads and announce their service to the assembled.

They will leave in sandwich bags.

14. IMO....
....leaving in trash bags would be more fitting if they think they are "serving" by riding the Winnebago through Iowa.

The more he talks the better. I hope he wastes a lot of his own millions on his losing campaign.
