Nixon resigned the presidency 33 years ago today
Jerry Ford in his inaugural speech said, "Our long national nightmare is over." Then pardoned Tricky Dick a month later. Well, our current national nightmare is still going strong. Nixon at least knew when to go, but of course, the Democrats in congress (or some of them) have not made it clear to this current president who has made the crimes of Watergate look like child's play.

2. Who'd have thunk someone would come along and make Nixon look good?
Sigh. I wish the current nightmare would end soon. But then again what can we do but wish when our representatives allow the criminal activity to continue unabated?

without a pause, and we see the results today of not holding political criminals to account then and during Iran-Contra.

Watch Bill Moyers and the Secret Government. It puts today in perspective and supplies a context conveying how we got to this point. It also helps realize how brain-washed the USA is today. We see how stupid we were when.

3. He also got me court-martialed.
I was back from leave and telling the guys about what all was going on with Watergate and the WH (current events were pretty sketchy, where we were).

Some fucking officer came up to me and said, "Wright, President Nixon is our Commander-in-Chief and I would follow him through the Gates of Hell if he needed me to".

I told him that I hoped he would get an opportunity right soon.

Court-martialed.
