Will Bush repeat Katrina failures in Minneapolis?

In a visit to the collapsed bridge in Minneapolis yesterday, President Bush vowed to aid in reconstruction efforts. But the AP reports that “{n}early two years ago, with parts of New Orleans still under water after Hurricane Katrina, Bush made similar declarations in the French Quarter, promising that the government would ’stay as long as it takes to help citizens rebuild their communities and their lives.’” New Orleans City Councilwoman Shelley Midura remarked: “I’m sorry, it takes more than a simple sentence.”

1. But George can't read a complex sentence.
Let alone comprehend one.

And as long as any money that does go through goes through crony hands.

5. I don't think
the RNC will let him screw this up, it will be a great opportunity for them to get a lot of good press when they have their doings there next year, I am sure they will squeeze every bit of propaganda out of it they can.

7. Good point. They'd have to be nuts to not milk a "success" for all it's worth before
the convention.

6. I briefly saw news coverage of him
in MN and it seemed to me he looked as if he thought he was on a sight-seeing tour. And I get so tired of his platitudes. Surely he could learn some others. Our clueless president on the road.

9. I hate to say this, but could it be that he can't offend a predominately white community?
This is about as disgusting as it gets. Bush couldn't care less when it was black people suffering and dying in New Orleans but he seems more concerned about a whiter community. I don't want to see anybody suffer and die but this just reinforces my feeling that Bush filters everything thru race (his "base").

11. No way! This new bridge will be done "licketysplit." Their stupid convention
is in Minneapolis next year and you know they want a beautiful new replacement bridge so they can show off their re-building capability, unlike Katrina.
