In one election night, John Boehner went from being the No. 2 man in a powerful Republican House to being the No. 1 man in a second-place GOP contingent. The Plain Dealer's Sabrina Eaton talked to the suburban Cincinnati congressman about life in the minority and his plans to bring Republicans back to power in the next election.

John Boehner has had his share of bad breaks. One of the worst happened in November, when the Democratic Party's sweep of Congress cost him his job as House majority leader.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. discontinued the Barclay cigarettes he had smoked for years, and his dry cleaner turned his white shirts gray and broke their buttons.
