Though the venom and anger gets to be too much sometimes, I couldn't bear to walk away from D.U. The posters here are bright, sharp, and edgy, like jagged bits of colored glass strewn across a sun-lit path. The deeper our troubles become, the more important this place becomes--not only to my morale, but to the sharpness of my mind.

I don't agree with everything posted here, not by a long shot. But I've had my opinions shifted too many times by well-reasoned arguments. That's one of the reasons I'm here. I like new perspectives. Occasionally, like everyone else, I get stuck on an idea and sink my teeth in and won't let go, but that's half the fun as well.

I know that every few days Nance will post something else that'll skyrocket to the top of the Greatest page, and once a week JeffR will give out the DUzies, which usually send me into fits of laughter.

Even in this age of treason, horror, and criminal malfeasance by our government, DUers can make me laugh.

That's worth something in itself. This place is full of both wit and wisdom, as well as the profound and profane.

Though occasionally I may be driven to take a break, I will never walk away for good, or ask I be given the final granite goodbye.

I'm a DUer, and proud of it.
