WHO's Jan Mickelson questions why Romney is secular.

Romney goes on to say that Christ will return on the Mount of Olives, split the mountain in two and stop the war that threatens to destroy Israel. Then Christ will reign again from Jerusalem and .....get this......MISSOURI.

Who the fuck is more crazy?

And this is what the republicans have dug up to run for President?

What friggin universe is this?

1. Missouri?
I didn't know Romney was a member of the Reorganized Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints, whose headquarters is around Independence, MO.

3. They're all friggin nuts as far as I'm concerned.
Missouri, Jerusalem, Mount of Olives, the Vatican, the Bible....you name it.

It's all a bunch of hocus pocus nonsense to control people.

2. Early Moromons believe that MISSOURI was the orignal
Garden of Eden. They settled there but were kicked out. That is when to moved to Utah.PBS had an excellent History Doc. on the Mormons. They are as wack as other religions. Comparing the major relgions beliefs was a fun pursuit. In my view they are all silly fairy tales.

4. Actually, they were kicked out because of their anti-slavery stance
and so moved to Nauvoo IL, where they started to build a major city and a temple. But when Joseph Smith started raising what amounted to his own private army, the folks in the Sucker State grew alarmed, had him arrested and put in the Carthage Jail, where he was killed by an angry mob (bullet holes still visible in the jail, btw). It was only after this that Brigham Young led most of the Mormons to Utah. The rest, called the Reorganized Church of LDS, went back to MO, where they remain to this day.

You can go see the old houses for free at Nauvoo if you don't mind putting up with the Mormon's sermons on the subject. But it is mainly historical in nature.
