Let's allow Michael Vick to motivate NFL players
After being criticized for calling for the execution of Michael Vick for fighting and torturing dogs, I have been thinking this matter over. I've arrived a couple of conclusions.

Vick is very popular with his peers in pro football. So perhaps we need to take some of his dog motivational methods and transfer them to the NFL.

For instance if a NFL player causes a fumble that results in his team losing, he should be taken to the shower, wet down and then electrocuted. If it helps to improve the performance of a bunch of dogs, surely it would help a bunch of football players.

I'm not sure just what all Vick did to his dogs to improve their performance. But one method I'd avoid with football players would be slinging them against a brick wall at the end of a 10 foot chain. It would make the locker room very messy. Instead, we may consider cutting one of the balls off any receiver who drops a pass and sewing it to his jersey. It would sort of serve as a reminder.

I'm sure there are many other things we could initiate that would make the game much more enjoybable for us all.

These motivational methods would also serve to create many new openings on each team and drive the starting NFL pay down to the minimum wage level where it belongs.

Just a thought ...

1. I agree completely, and let's use Mike as the first test run ...
... first game this season his team loses, bring him out to the 50 yard line, shoot him in the kneecaps, wet him down, electrocute him and let several of his dogs have at him. All on national television.

3. ...in the court of law but the court of public opinion or the marketplace
is a different story. One would think that one of the highest paid athletes would at least try to be a good role model but "Ron Mexico" is a terrible role model on so many different levels. Whether passing on herpes, taking drug smuggling paraphenalia on a plane or giving hometown fans the finger, Michael Vick has been a bitter disaapointment to Atlanta fans. A regular person would still be under the jail for that airplane incident. I hope Vick's NFL career is (N)ot (F)or (L)ong. Give someone more deserving the starting quarterback position and what all goes with it.
