So I turn on NBC this morning
Edited on Sun Aug-05-07 10:30 AM by malaise
to watch the chattering class. I watched Russert and am watching Tweety, but while they have gone on and on about mostly meaningless bullshit, I have not heard a word about the Minnesota bridge collapse or a comment about the state of infrastructure across the country. After the break Tweety will ask whether another attack will help or hurt the Rethugs or Dems?

Surely another bridge collapse, another pipe bursting, or another levy breaking is more likely to expose these Rethugs?

Why doesn't he ask if another bridge collapse will wipe out these government destroying parasites?

Are discussions on the impact of public policy off the table on those stupid Sunday spinterviews?

Why is there all this crap about the 2008 personalities and zippo on serious issues like infrastructure?

Sp.

1. Why? Because it's the chattering class
and all they know how to do is chatter.

Jeezus, dude; it's Tweety and Potato Head! What do you expect?

2. The accident happened in Minnesota, not New York, LA or DC...so it's old news now
Where the heck in Minnesota anyway? Canada?

:sarcasm:

4. Russert wants to talk about politics and polls, not issues.
And there is a debate on ABC's This Week with G.S.

Ron Paul got lots of applause and jeers when he talked about withdrawing from Iraq, but his website doesn't discuss access to medical care, which is shocking because he is a doctor.

5. Ouch! The news suppression is getting clumsy!
For the bridge collapse to not even appear is just too, too strained and contrived.
Because you are so right, malaise, that disaster is clearly effecting attitudes more than anything else this week.

Heck! Our Minnesota Repug Governor turned a 180 and cancelled his own veto of transportation funding!!!!

In this radical neo-con environment, that's an earthquake!

8. I could not say this better
For the bridge collapse to not even appear is just too, too strained and contrived.

They deliberately avoided the most topical issue of the week.

It cannot be a serious discussion if the state of infrastructure is left out of public discussions and debates. Policy, not personality, is supposed to be the linchpin of who people vote for any given party or candidate. I'm so fugging sick of this shit.

6. It's entertainment, financed by Repuke-controlled corporations
And you expect them to discuss serious matters that might cast the current criminal administration in a bad light? And yet people keep watching. I don't get it.

9. I honestly expected some discussion
on the state of infrastructure this morning. Call me naive.

7. Oh oh oh but they are all talking about another al-queada tape
which was released RIGHT ON SCHEDULE to help boast bush's terror rhetoric. It is sure damn convenient that when ever bush and his Nazi cohorts get in trouble with security or want something up pops the terrorist tape. I am so damn sick and tired of all this stuff I am going to hibernate til 2009. But then the way the democrats are acting, I probably wouldn't know the difference when I wake up, IF THEY HAPPEN, to win the presidency and a bigger majority in congress. Do you think.
