1. I can't believe Barbara Mikulski did that
I'll be writing her a little note this week. What was she thinking?

29. She's surprisedme on several votes over the last 5 years.
I'll be expecting a form letter explaining how safe she's made me from this decision.

At least Cardin didn't follow her lead.

2. Mary Landrieu - Louisiana
Now how did I know that my Senator would be on the list?
Oh, that's right, she has nothing better to do - Katrina/Rita - levees - oil revenues...

5. CAN anybody give us the names.
Crooks and Liars have them but they are not listed by party. My senator voted for it and she got a damn email with every thing allowable. My representative voted against it. But I'll like to know the other representatives who did.

If so, if you would post it would be much appreciated.

8. Have met and given money to Lincoln - never again, of course they are owned and operated by
corporations which is why they continue to vote against our protections and our Constitutional rights and don't give it a second thought.

13. Where should we be focused? When is illegally still a crime?
1.) A FISA court judge ruled that an ongoing NSA spying program had been conducted illegally many months ago.

2.) Many months later, Dems catch political fallout for not putting a "fix" on Bush's desk overnight.

Questions:

Who acted illegally?

Is acting illegally a crime?

If so, who committed the crime?

Why did this languish for many months, if the nation was really in peril? Who kept it secret?

Why are Dems (presuming they are Dems, not just the usual worms) going after Dems on this one?

15. Ok. These traitors, alone with the House traitors voted but who put the bills up for
consideration? They weren't the ones. There was absolutely no reason for the Dems to cave in to Shrub.

If you are going to accuse everyone who disagrees with you on one issue of being a traitor, I suggest you join the Rs!

20. I think you missed my point Entirely! All of those Dems that voted with the Repugs
Edited on Sun Aug-05-07 11:38 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
are traitors to our country. But who put the Bills up for consideration in the first place? Who caved into Shrub and who allowed these bills in the Senate and in the House to be voted on? Shrub put the screws on our leadership and our leadership caved in. FISA WAS FINE! They made Shrub's Illegal Spying Legitimate by offering what he wanted up for a vote. They could have Ignored him and they didn't. In fact, I will take it a step further, IMHO this Sociopath in Chief should be Shunned! I dont think 70% of our population would mind that considering his "popularity".

On Friday's Countdown, Keith Olbermann had on Jonathan Turley and Turley said that FISA itself is unConstitutional, trampling on the Fourth Amendment. Do you know that some of the most Progressive Democrats voted against the House Democratic Bill on Friday night? People wanted to know why. It's clear as day. They didn't want our rights to be trampled on with even the House Amendment.

Then you have the Very Suspicious case of Friday night's vote in the House requiring 2/3 to pass. They suspended the rules. The House Bill was DOOMED to failure from the get go. Why??? I looked at the House Rules and Suspension of the Rules usually occurs -- from Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspension_of_the_rules

U.S. House of Representatives

Suspension of the rules is a procedure generally used to quickly pass non-controversial bills.

Snip
Most often, bills "on suspension" are non-controversial legislation -- such as naming Post Offices of the United States Postal Service or federal buildings -- and nearly all bills that are considered under suspension rules have bipartisan support. Both major political parties in the United States -- the Democratic Party and Republican Party -- have internal rules that prohibit proposing or supporting a bill under suspension unless it costs less than $100 million.

Was this a non-controversial bill that should be quickly passed????

The House Vote Friday Night Was A Farce, It Was Grand Theater.

Leadership Knew from the Start that It would be the Senate Bill that would be signed into law.

"They Had No Decency"

21. This is not just "one issue", this is huge. This may be what kills our chances in 2008.
We have been trying to convince the Country that there is no excuse for breaking the law let alone violating the Constitution. The republican administration has done this in dozens of ways. We need to stand fast and say that breaking the law is never acceptable, never. But what have we done now? We, the Democratic Party has bowed down, knuckled under to the King. The Democrats in Congress have said that it is ok to break this law at least in this case. Well how about all the other cases? How do we play outrage at other violations of the law and Constitution. Our hope was to sell the Democratic Party as the Party of law and order. Well you can kiss that goodbye. We now can be called the Party of capitulation. We are afraid to stand up to the Fuhrer.

made her final Aye vote the majority. It was shameless and shameful.

36. Time to support their primary opponents and let them know why.
They cannot abandon their base and get away with it.

(I am trying really, really hard to find something positive, but this is really simply treason what they have done.)
