"Masters of SF" - a Bush parallel...

Did anyone see the first episode of "Masters of Science Fiction" on ABC Saturday night? It had eerie parallels to the Bush Administration. LIMITED SPOILERS AHEAD...

A psychiatrist is trying to treat a man who can't remember anything more than a few hours before the current moment. He has done something horrific, and has blanked it out of his mind. He only comes to some realization about what he has done when he sees what happened to the people closest to him.

For the longest time, it's not certain who is telling the truth or what is happening. It only becomes clear in the last few minutes of the show, when we find out exactly who the man is, what he has done and how he came to do what he did.

And it all seems to fit everything, including...NOT SO LIMITED SPOILER AHEAD...

the ultimate fate of the psychiatrist. What she did, all her agony, all her attempt to achieve some justice in the situation, accomplishes nothing. Just like everyone here at DU, with their posts and their declarations of outrage. I'm sorry to put it that way, but watch the show and tell me it's not true.
