It seems like Karl Rove is still running this country
Edited on Sat Aug-04-07 11:09 PM by Poiuyt
He's got the Congressional Dems too afraid to vote against Bush. The Dems are afraid to stand up to Bush because when there is another terrorist attack, the Dems know that Rove will find a way to blame them. So now Congress has just voted to expand government's abilities to eavesdrop without warrants. What happened to the Bill of Rights? The Dems don't care, they just want to get elected the next time through.

The Dems won't end the war by cutting off funding, they won't call for timelines because Rove will label them as soft on national security. Never mind that that is what the people want. Never mind that the NIE said that the war in Iraq is making terrorism worse.

Bush and his administration have trampled all over the Constitution, but the Dems won't consider impeaching him because Rove has them convinced that bringing up impeachment would divide the country further (is that possible?) and would be bad for Dems. In fact, history has shown that bringing up impeachment charges is usually a political winner for the impeaching party. (http://www.commondreams.org/views06/1109-27.htm). What's even sadder is that many here at DU have also been convinced that impeaching Bush would be a bad thing to do. Is Rove's message so powerful that the members of DU can't see through it?

The Democrats may have taken majority control in both the House and the Senate, but you would never know it. The Dems in the House are too afraid to do anything because of the way Rove would slam them. The Dems in the Senate can't get anything through because of the cloture procedure. Where was this when the Repubs were in control of the senate?

I'm sorry for ranting, I just feel like I did in November 2004.

1. I feel like I've felt since election night 2000, to tell the truth.
Despair. Continuously jerked around. and not represented.

We are in deep, deep, deep shit!

3. That little doughboy must be roaring tonight.
The Democrats have no plan and they cannot stick together.

Rove would be right about that.

That stupid House is still in session. Going into their 16th hour - how damn clear can their thinking be?

4. I agree, Rove is controlling the message
Where did this come from all of a sudden, all this fear that had to be handled so quickly? Bush wasn't going to let Congress take its break if they didn't cave in. They had to pass this spy bill right NOW!

Rove is making sure that all the Democrats know that they will be held responsible if there is another attack.

that it's * at the helm. The Dems have nowhere near complete control of anything. Spinning works both ways.

Instead of allowing this uneducated pig-eyed sack of shit run everything Democrats need to respond in kind and counter him. Neutralize his message.
