There are some folks in here who seemingly gripe about EVERYTHING the Dems do or don't do, so why don't you all run for public office? Since you all are experts on how things work, it would seem that if you are officeholders one would think that it is easier to change things from the inside. I used to sit and holler and yell all the time, but decided that just wasn't going to do it, so I started working for certain candidates. If those who always gripe and know how things should be run make a try for office, I may support you too. And fyi, the reason I won't ever run is because I have had a checkered past, freely admit it, and really suck at public speaking. Besides, I don't think everything the Dems do is always wrong.

1. I don't care to be a canidate...but I'd love to be a campaign manager.

I encourage everyone to consider a run. At the very least it's a learning experience.

Imagine! DU view points in your local elections.

Everyone should consider running and asking DU for help (money and people).

I'm in!

2. If they ran for office there's a chance they might win, and...
then they couldn't bitch about the problem because they will be the problem.

It's always easier to type shit about how things should be done than actually do them.

(Yeah, I'm guilty of that too, but I'm not calling for anyone's head.)

3. Have any successfully run at one level or another?
I'm curious; a group of activists this size, I'd be surprised if we didn't at least have a few town councillors or somesuch, if not necessarily senators or cabinet secretaries. Anyone know?

5. I won't be running because I suck at public speaking too.
I also have a temper and have social anxiety.

But, I'll continue to holler and yell at the Democrats (not all of them) when they fuck up, like they did Friday and Today.

7. i call this the "netroots paradox"
on the internet, the people who scream the loudest about a particular issue are actually the least likely to cause significant positive change on said issue

8. No one said "everything the Dems do is always wrong" but you.
And until what a person believes and wants to do is more important than what they look like or how much money they can raise, it would be a waste of time for me to run.
