9. I had a feeling while watching the vote,
when all of those Dem votes were ending up in the WRONG column, that we may have blown our chances in '08 for the whole damn election!!! They are certainly turning me off. I had better not see any Dem's names from Ct. on that list!!!

13. Don't know how important the names are. For each of these monumentally
important issues, it seems a different group of dems will vote with the republicans. I don't think you'd find that many of them are CONSISTENTLY voting from a minority dem position. They take turns. The overall result seems to always be the same. Think the votes aren't negotiated in advance?

And an emergency brush-up on how legislatures work.

Passing bills is not "High Noon." It's actually pretty tricky--not a straightforward process at all. Deals are made, compromises are reached. Things are not always what they seem. Courage has little to do with it. Congress is not an action movie.
