1. For me, no. I would support a proposal for a tax to raise revenue for
veterans and their families to cover the entire range of needs, not least medical and psychological support and care.

2. NO and NO..............
DHS is NOT necessary and should be abolished. There is a BETTER WAY than war, as our future owners, CHINA, have already discovered.

3. I thought we already paid taxes for homeland security and the war.
How about taxes for health care?

6. HOMELAND OBSCURITY
I wish we could get rid of the 'Homeland security' dept, it sounds too much like 'fatherland'
it should be renamed US Security, or national security like its always been.

11. I agree fully. I didn't think there was anyone else who thought "Homeland Security" sounded vaguely
Nazi. "Domestic Security", a direct synonym, would do wonderfully, but "US Security Service" or "National Security" would be great as well.

7. Hmmm.
An agency with an Orwellian name that practices ridiculous security theater at the expense of our liberties, while providing little real security? No.

A war based on a lie that has our politicians sending our soldiers and countless Iraqis to their deaths so crooked contractors and government officials can line their pockets? No.

10. No. We need tax reform, not new lines in the tax code.
A truly progressive tax - from 0-40% no exclusion, no credits, no deductions. Every source of income counts except government "entitlement" programs to poor individuals. No corporate welfare, no corporate tax credits, no special small business tax laws.

it will never happen.

12. Not only no but Hell no. This proposed war tax is scary.
Everyone has a line they refuse to cross. I will have to make some serious life decisions if the war tax becomes reality.

16. Double motherfucking hell no
They give the wealthy billions in tax cuts, give them our social security funds, slash social programs to the bone, and then want US to pay for their debt!!! No Way. What the hell is wrong with people that would agree to this. Roll back the tax cuts on the wealthy, by the way, which is exactly what John Kerry voted for back in 2003 that people like Lieberman and Clinton opposed.

No thanks.
