Most pitiful Republican of the week:
Hard to choose these days isn't it?

You get several supporting unpopular useless wars.

Another caught wearing a dress and peeing in front of children. Shortly afterwards gets caught soliciting for sex with an undercover police officer.

And the whiner, sorry I mean "Winner" is:

The "Blame the back guy defense"

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/state/orl-allentape0307aug03,0,1892734.story

State Rep. Bob Allen, R-Merritt Island, leaves the Brevard County Jail on July 11. An undercover officer accused him of offering sex.

TITUSVILLE - State Rep. Bob Allen told police he was just playing along when a undercover officer suggested in a public restroom that the legislator give him oral sex and $20 because he was intimidated, according to a taped statement and other documents released Thursday.

Allen has already denied any wrongdoing, but the recordings and documents offered new details about what he and police say happened on July 11 inside the men's room at Veterans Memorial Park.

"I certainly wasn't there to have sex with anybody and certainly wasn't there to exchange money for it," said Allen, R-Merritt Island, who was arrested on charges of soliciting prostitution.

"This was a pretty stocky black guy, and there was nothing but other black guys around in the park," Allen, who is white, told police in a taped statement after his arrest. Allen said he feared he "was about to be a statistic" and would have said anything just to get away.

Allen, who couldn't be reached for comment Thursday, has repeatedly declared his innocence, his intention to fight the charges and his desire to stay in office.

Three undercover officers said they were staking out a nearby condo hoping to catch a burglar when Allen entered a park bathroom at about 3:30 p.m.

The officers, who didn't recognize the seven-year legislator, said they thought he was behaving suspiciously and thought that he was looking for a sexual partner, according to the reports released by the Brevard-Seminole State Attorney's Office.

In a written statement released Thursday, Titusville Officer Danny Kavanaugh recalled entering the restroom twice and said he was drying his hands in a stall when Allen peered over the stall door.

After peering over the stall a second time, Allen pushed open the door and joined Kavanaugh inside, the officer wrote. Allen muttered " 'hi,' " and then said, " 'this is kind of a public place, isn't it,' " the report said.

The officer said he asked Allen about going somewhere else and that the legislator suggested going "across the bridge, it's quieter over there."

"Well look, man, I'm trying to make some money; you think you can hook me up with 20 bucks?" Kavanaugh asked Allen.

The officer said Allen responded, "Sure, I can do that, but this place is too public."

Then Kavanaugh said he told Allen, "I wanna know what I gotta do for 20 bucks before we leave.' " He said Allen replied: "I don't know what you're into."

According to Kavanaugh's statement, the officer said, "do you want just ?" and Allen replied, "I was thinking you would want one."

The officer said he then asked Allen, "but you'll still give me the 20 bucks for that . . . and that the legislator said, "yeah, I wouldn't argue with that."

As Allen turned and motioned for the officer to follow him to his car, Kavanaugh identified himself as a police officer by raising his shirt and exposing his badge.

When Allen was being placed in a marked patrol car, he asked whether "it would help" if he was a state legislator, according to a police report. The officer replied, "No."

Suppose you could give the "blame the black guy" award to Lindsay Lohan however there is no indication she's a republican...

Folks, do you finally see just HOW cowardly the GOP leadership AND rank & file are?

How many republicans do you know who will step up to the plate and denounce their own hypocritical slobs at the party helm?

Answer: None. maybe a mild condemnation shortly afterwards followed by "Democrats are worse". No actual accountability.

The answer is why? Well the reason is that these rank and file republicans, these pitiful former and actual "College republicans" are the same soft bellied, yellow hided blame the victim cowards as their "heroes" in the party establishment.

They will run to their own kind every time. Seek them out wherever they lay. Whether it's the halls of congress or the "stalls of Orlando"..

1. HAHAHA holy crap! So wrong on so many levels.
First, he admits he's scared of black people, like that's better than being gay. Second, he's SO scared of black people and so sure he's about to be killed that he'd blow a guy just to get away from him? I think just about anyone would rather get mugged than suck some strange guy's wang in a public restroom, gay or not.

This has got to be the worst excuse I've ever, ever heard.

4. The "blame the black guy"
never has been a particularly helpful defense. See "Susan Smith". OK that's not funny.

In the case of Lindsay Lohan (recently blaming her high speed drunken driving on an innocent, terrified black male rider in her car) I expect she'll go down for some time in jail as did Paris Hilton.

But representative Allen? He doesn't face any serious legal consequences so maybe the idea seems a little less absurd. Problem is his political career which on the surface appears finished. However many of his constituents have to be Republican White males. So it may not hurt him all that much.

However I can't think of any attorney giving the advice to "blame the black guy"...

It's like the stupidest way to spin a problem. First it draws attention to the absurd fracas and then it makes the defendant look even more awful.

7. My guess is Allen deliberatly chose that bathroom....
because, in his racist mind he was safer cruising an area frequented mostly by African-Americans. (Allen probably has trouble realizing that there are black cops, or that black men harassed by him might be brave enough to testify against him.) And he knew if he got busted in a black neighborhood, he could always play the racism card.

8. I'm not sure who is more of a bastard... they are both bigots.
So basically, if I read it correctly it went down like this...

Allen, who the cop did not recognize as a state legislator, was going to the bathroom. The cop, suspecting that he might be looking for a sexual partner, decided to follow him and basically engage in entrapment. He obviously acts in some way suggestive to Allen, who then responds timidly by opening a stall door and mumbling a "hi". He then comments that the place is kinda public, and that they should probably go somewhere more private.

Now, here is where things get really dirty on the cop's part as he says the following: "Well look, man, I'm trying to make some money; you think you can hook me up with 20 bucks?"

It seems that Allen interpreted it as a guy down on his luck and not an out-and-out solicitation, and decided to help the guy out. He then once again insists that the place is too public, and after a bit more talk where the cop further tries to ensnare Allen, they finally leave. It is then that it is revealed to Allen that he was speaking to an undercover cop and was under arrest.

To avoid being outted Allen (who is probably married with kids) then concocts a fake story about how he was afraid of black people and was intimidated, which in turn made things for himself worse than they already were.

Really, in the end I'm not sure who is worse. Allen for trying to play the "I'm afraid of black people" card to avoid being outted. (Hint: It's too late.) Or the cop for basically seeking out gay men to prey upon, in hopes that he can entrap them with guilt. The old, "Look man, I'm down on my luck, can you spare $20?" In the end both turn out to be bastards, and really they deserve each other. Their punishment should be to give each other head. Allen might enjoy it, but it would prove that he really likes black people, and the cop should give Allen head because hey - if you're going to entrap gay people you should be forced to go all the way.

10. Er... Allen is the one who peers over the stall, pushes open
the door and joins the policeman in the stall. Unless this is typical behavior in the men's room (not being a man, I wouldn't know) it sounds like Allen actively pursued the contact. From the article:

In a written statement released Thursday, Titusville Officer Danny Kavanaugh recalled entering the restroom twice and said he was drying his hands in a stall when Allen peered over the stall door.

After peering over the stall a second time, Allen pushed open the door and joined Kavanaugh inside, the officer wrote. Allen muttered " 'hi,' " and then said, " 'this is kind of a public place, isn't it,' " the report said.

The comment about the money - doesn't appear to happen until after Allen made the not-so-subtle (joining the stranger in the stall) approach.

I don't see the entrapment.

12. Yes, I realize that, but...
...think about it logically. The report doesn't say why Allen joined the cop in the stall, and it wouldn't make sense for Allen simply to open a stall door and walk in - I mean put yourself in a gay mans shoes. You're alone in a public bathroom, you know there are bigots out there who would kill you for being forward like that, so the most logical explanation is the cop gave some sort of indication that it was okay. The report doesn't say that one way or another, but it certainly seems to be implied. It wouldn't make sense for him to enter the stall otherwise.

The report began with the cop believing Allen to be looking for a hook up with another man. Therefore, it is rather obvious that when he saw Allen looking over his stall that he gave Allen some reassurance that it was okay to enter because that is what the cop wanted Allen to do! He wanted to entrap him. Once Allen was in the stall that is when the cop basically gave his guilt trip of, "Hey buddy I'm down on my luck, can you spare $20?"

Had he said something like, "Hey, you wanna have sex? It'll cost you $20!" It might be different, but the way he asked it was so subtle that I don't think MOST people in that situation (nervous, horny and embarrassed) would take it for a solicitation. At least, from my stand point, I wouldn't. It would have taken what he asked at face value. I would have also been different had Allen made the solicitation, "Hey you wanna have sex? I'll pay you $20!"

That is why I am calling it entrapment.
