Check out Mythsaje's post from last Saturday:How smart? How evil?

Since those pipes burst in New York, I had this real fear that a bridge would be next. I had no idea that my fear would have been realized in less than a week.

Grover, Hayek (Thatcher's god) and Nozick. The fightback is on its way. Wait for the next major bridge collapse. Apparently Katrina was not enough to wake the sheeple, but they're slowly getting angry. Social services cannot be privatized. Across Latin America and the Caribbean we're fighting back.

2. It was truly only a matter of time
We have so many infrastructure problems everywhere. For decades Republicans in particular have neglected our country with their insistence on tax cuts and wanting to privatize everything. I am very concerned about the more recent attempts in many places to privatize highways. I think if that becomes more widespread we will see more bridge collapses, because privatization of public works is NEVER a good thing.

infrastructure for ages. This is the moment to seize the discussion re policy. Remember the New Deal followed both the floods and the great depression. There will not be meaningful change until citizens not only take the streets, but organize the way they did in the 60s and 70s.

4. Democracy Now had a piece on this Friday
They interviewed two authors from Mother Jones who had written about this. It is going to get worse not better. Indiana privatized a toll road; in fact it will be operated by SPANISH and AUSTRALIAN companies. People there are understandably upset but they did nothing to stop it. I am not sure what they could have done.

5. ironic
It's ironic, because the more conservative republicans have always said that government should be limited to basics such as infrastructure and defense.

7. Indeed
Busho has no conservatives. They are imperial robber barons -greed is their raison d'être.
