Rep Cantor (R-VA) "We NEVER did anything like what the Dems did today!" (video)

OMG! Talk about your freakin' hypocrits!

Today, on the floor of Congress, VA Rep. Eric Cantor (R) attacked Democrats for reopening a vote that was inadvertantly closed 15 minutes early and reopened after the Republicans thought they had a 215-213 victory.

http://www.youtube.com/v/el3XFfb-N9Q (1 minute video posted by some Right-Wingnut).

The Repugs are calling this "vote stealing". Incredibly short memories they have.

(link to this video in the "Political Videos" section is bad, so I'm reposting it here).

2. Behave rationally and reasonably
I have to agree, Pubs NEVER did exhibit any of the decorum Dems did today. That was the most childish debacle I have ever witnessed.

4. Yeah, right!
I seem to recall them leaving a vote open WAY past the time it should have been closed, so they could twist some arms and threaten people. Can't recall which bill that was, but gimme a fucking break, Cantor.

You and the other Republics have pulled every dirty, sleazy trick in the book to get what you want. Go Cheney yourself!

6. It was the Prescrip Drug Bill with Delay...
...holding the vote open for three hours in the middle of the night.

That was my response to the video (on YouTube as "BI30"), and the piggies are ALREADY squealing in protest! :)

9. He is correct. They never did this by accident. ...Only on purpose.
No exceptions.

10. Nor did they admit it.
Nor did they apologize for it.

What I remember most about the vote a year ago was Tom Delay explaining the next day why they held the vote open an extra three hours. With a big shit-eating grin that showed that he KNEW they got away with something, he answered, "Because the vote wasn't over yet."

11. Yeah, exactly. Wasn't over until DeLay said it was over.
And damned proud of it. And obviously he should be, because the Democrats don't have the brass to do the same.

Hey, mind you, Pelosi promised that DeLay's BS would not be copied or tolerated. However, I don't think they foresaw an accidental early closing of a vote. That's just amateurish and bizarre, but may not be technically against their pledges because no one considered this exact possibility.

That's why they held a re-vote to show that this was the true and final result. I have no problem with that. Apologizing for it now is stupid.
