One once gently used, recently abused United States Constitution. This document was once respected and revered. Most of us hate to part with it, but as it is a much loved and respected old friend we have to do what is best for our dear constitution. If there is any country out there that promises to give it a good home (references required) with leaders that won’t abuse it, please send an email with a paragraph or two listing your qualifications, and describing how you would care for it.

16. Misuse.......?
No more so than the guy in NH who wants some artist to paint his "FIBERGLASS BOAT" for FREE, so that they will have a portfolio piece?
I would charge him double for having to use nasty toxic materials that will remain on a fibreglass boat in the water!
If I want a portfolio piece, I can do it on canvas in the comfort of my own studio!
That won't be removed it qualifies as Murikan enterprise!

6. Funny you should mention that

...The Onion had it pegged in 2002, always good for a laugh or in this case a tear or two.

<<Bill Of Rights Pared Down To A Manageable Six

WASHINGTON, DC—Flanked by key members of Congress and his administration, President Bush approved Monday a streamlined version of the Bill of Rights that pares its 10 original amendments down to a "tight, no-nonsense" six.....>>

Cheers

30. All but the stupid second...

On Edit: From the Onion...

"WASHINGTON, DC—Flanked by key members of Congress and his administration, President Bush approved Monday a streamlined version of the Bill of Rights that pares its 10 original amendments down to a "tight, no-nonsense" six.

"As supporters look on, Bush signs the Bill Of Rights Reduction And Consolidation Act.

"A Republican initiative that went unopposed by congressional Democrats, the revised Bill of Rights provides citizens with a "more manageable" set of privacy and due-process rights by eliminating four amendments and condensing and/or restructuring five others. The Second Amendment, which protects the right to keep and bear arms, was the only article left unchanged."

<cut>

"Ashcroft responded sharply to critics who charge that the Bill of Rights no longer safeguards certain basic, inalienable rights.

"We're not taking away personal rights; we're increasing personal security," Ashcroft said. "By allowing for greater government control over the particulars of individual liberties, the Bill of Rights will now offer expanded personal freedoms whenever they are deemed appropriate and unobtrusive to the activities necessary to effective operation of the federal government."

It definitely believable... That's the trouble with the Onion -- their articles are too close to the truth...

Offer these guys up as a "package deal", no references required as long as the taker is far, far away from here, transportation included (ONE-way tickets only). Asking price - free, all sales are final.

far more humiliating and homoerotic to do to the Constitution than simply wiping his ass. Some horrible variation of Ookie Cookie perhaps. Or the cabinet secretaries could pick grapes off of the Bill of Rights with their ass cheeks.

23. Great Post, However I DOUBT There Will Be Any Takers! I Have
another idea though. It would be FANTASTIC if we ALL would send it to our Representatives & Senators! I'm not sure Vern Buchanan is REALLY my Rep., but Mel Martinez will take emails, but I'll have to WRITE Bill Nelson!

It may not do any good, but I know it will make me feel a little better! I think I'll write my friends and forward them your statement if you don't mind!

How can we get this circulated? I can keep posting and others can too so it will stay up front. I don't know that much about pictures or polls or anything like that here at DU, but there MUST be someone who knows how to do it!

Why don't we do it???
