FISA bill come up for a vote and the vote count machine goes on the brink?
Trial run was last night. It worked, so Wilson calls for adjournment because she didn't get her amendment in the bill, the machine goes down AGAIN and the repukes are PREPARED for the fight? Hello? Doesn't anyone else find this the least bit suspicious???

vote count machine broken = hacked by repuke vote machine hackers.

Is the timing of this not just a bit strange to you? The repukes KNEW they were going to lose this fight today. How CONVENIENT that the vote count machine goes on the brink!

1. no
the machines didn't go down. The display board wasn't working, and the Republicans decided to make hay out of it. They bitched and bitched and bitched, but didn't want to accept any of the possible solutions.

Boehner finally got up and agreed with Hoyer to vacate the vote, fix the display, and start over.

It was a historic show of republican whining over nothing.

4. BUT, the COMPUTER has to be shut down in order to 'fix it.' The display board is connected

to the computer. They vote electronically. When they enter a vote it is then tabulated by the computer and displayed on the board. It's all connected.

It's too damn convenient that this happened during a FISA bill the repukes didn't want passed. They didn't want it passed because they wanted to give GONZO unchecked oversight power on the FISA/NSA program. If he doesn't get that power, the psycho can't cover up his crimes and the repukes KNOW IT. That's why I think they tried to throw a wrench in this whole thing. They've been given orders from the WH to GET Gonzo those powers.

Do you really doubt they would hack the House vote count machine after what they've done to the election system in this country? I DON'T.

5. this wasn't a vote on the FISA bill
it was a vote to adjourn until the National Security Advisor could weigh in on the bill.

8. BEFORE the adjournment by Wilson they were debating the FISA Bill. Wilson wanted her amendment in
Edited on Fri Aug-03-07 02:17 PM by in_cog_ni_to
the bill and the Dems wouldn't let her have it. The repukes wanted to adjourn, called by Wilson who was PISSED, and the Dems OBJECTED. The adjournment was NOT going to pass and the repuke knew that. WE are the Majority, not the them.

9. and it won't pass
when the board is fixed, either.

I'm not understanding your complaint.

Do you think they're rigging the House computers to screw up the vote on this?

There are only 435 votes (max), and it records how members voted. People will know if their vote is counted incorrectly.

11. How would people know if their vote is wrong or right if the machine doesn't work?
All they have to do is change ONE vote. Congress people always say they're going to vote one way and once they get there, change their mind. Unless the Democrats have written and Notarized statements of how the Dems are going to vote, how do they know for certain? Do the NAMES of each member appear on the screens or is it numbers ONLY? If names can be counted, then you have a point. If not, votes can be changed.

13. they are fixing the display board
every member can check to see how his or her vote is recorded.

If a vote is recorded wrong, they will know immediately.

2. I am deeply worried about this. The suspicious statements of Senator Trent Lott...
the actions of the President in regards to the FISA law, and the whole rumor of there being a threat to the safety of Congress is just all really odd.

I wonder if we're witnessing the Reichstag getting ready to burn down.

6. SOMETHING IS HAPPENING! This whole debacle in the House was PLANNED.
They were prepared BEFORE it all went down.

7. Rethugpukelikans Are Well Versed in Hacking Voting Machines
It comes as NO surprize to me that the voting machines in the House are not working.

Rethugpukelkans are very well versed in hacking into voting machines.

10. Come on guys...
Do you really think Republicans would manipulate voting processes to change the outcomes of votes?

Despite being members of the opposition party, they still have the upmost respect for the American people and the Consitution.

You're all just a bunch of conspiracy nuts.

:sarcasm:
