Richland County, SC deputy injured; suspect turns self in
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A Richland County deputy, Kelly Randall, has been released from the hospital after being hurt during a traffic stop.

As they approached, they say they noticed a bulge in the driver's pocket. Sheriff Lott says, "Officers took that to mean he had a gun, asked him to get out. He took off."

Nearby, a witness - who asked not to be identified - was shocked at what happened next. "The car made a big swinging U-turn, gravel flying. I thought {the}officer was still inside the car."

By noon, WIS News 10 aired a photo of Johnson. He later told authorities he was watching and that's why he decided to turn himself in.

Lott says the suspect contacted his mother, his pastor and an attorney and they accompanied him as he turned himself in.
