If you told me this letter was written on Mars, I would not be any more surprised.

To the editor: (Daily Advertiser - Lafayette, LA)
I am a Christian (but a sinner), a disabled Vietnam veteran and a Louisianian first. As for Sen. Vitter, I forgive him and ask everyone else to do the same and pray for him and his family. I admire his wife for sticking by him, trying to work this out and keep their family whole.
I fought roosters all my life, and now he and the rest of the holier-than-thou finger-pointers want to stop it. Shame on the rock throwers - Vitter and the rest of them.
I've been married to the same lady for 30 years and never cheated on her. I forgive Vitter but don't want someone like him representing my family, friends or me. He should step down and get his life in order.
And that goes for the rest of the rock throwers. These hypocrites sit in their big homes and in their churches, while there are areas in our state and in this city that are just reeking with poverty, suffering and things much worse then the cruelty of cockfighting. These so-said Christians should be ashamed of themselves for calling themselves Christians.
Please don't judge others because of something you don't like or don't understand. Louisiana politicians, you should be ashamed of blaming cockfighting for the mess you have made in this state.
Isn't this about gambling money and not animal rights?
God bless this great country of ours and Louisiana. Stop judging. Live and let live.
