How many more before there is another revolt in Congress? How many more can the American people take?

I am thinking the insurgents/Iraqis have a new weapon to down our helicopters, it will take some time for us to adjust, when will the shit hit the fan? 20? 15 in one month? 50 in a year?

Please discuss.

1. No big deal
More die in car wrecks then die in Helicopter wrecks. Just ask any compassionate conservative or a chickenshit chickenhawk who makes a living hiding behind a microphone. Besides in less then two years, bush can pass his shit onto someone else and he can live happily ever after snorting coke in Paraguay.

4. Depends on how many more we have available.

The administration has already indicated quite clearly that the monetary and human costs are irrelevant to them. To them, there appears to be no limit.

As far as Congress is concerned, the votes aren't there to remove Bush, Cheney, et al, from office, and it doesn't appear that they're willing to take other significant steps to end the occupation in the short-term future.

Edit: fixed grammar

5. What year is this?
IIRC, it was in the 5th year of the soviet occupation of Afghanistan that the mujahadin started knocking out their helicopters in great numbers, turning the tide against them. From then on they started taking ever heavier casualties, so that at the end of their 10 year stay they'd lost some 15,000 troops.

Yep. Everything is right on schedule. We leave in 2012, with our tails between our legs and our society collapsing around us. Hawaii and Puerto Rico will declare their independence, and troops will be sent to Dixie to subdue fundamentalist secessionists.

Thanks, george.

7. No fair...foul called on the OP
"A senior U.S. defense official said the helicopter did not appear to have been hit by hostile fire..."
In other words these seven don't count. No revolt. No shit vs fan. No nothing.

Go to your time out corner.

12. In regards to a new weapon...
...a video was released claiming to show an Apache being shot down by a shoulder fired missile.

Here: - www.liveleak.com/view?i=ee046ff204

Approx 50 sec’s in it shows two men seemingly preparing/arming the missiles; the video has been obscured so the missile which is closest to the camera can't be identified. Later you can hear the missile fire but do not see the impact; it then cuts to show the Apache trailing smoke before going down.

Parts of it were shown on British media, this is probably a daft question but did it get reported stateside?
