What did Pat Tillman's father say to Darrell Issa to send him scurrying for the door?
-snip-

The pair dropped excuses like cluster bombs. Rumsfeld pointed out that "it's not possible for someone to know all the things that are going on" in the Pentagon. Myers asserted that "this is the responsibility of the United States Army, not the office of the chairman."

A few of the Republican lawmakers helped with the defense of Rumsfeld. John Mica (Fla.) called Rumsfeld a "hero" -- prompting Tillman's brother Kevin to crack his neck and look at the ceiling -- and likened Tillman's death to the traffic accident involving New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine. Chris Shays (Conn.) praised Rumsfeld for calling Democrats' "bluff" by showing up. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) joined in the defense -- but left hastily after receiving a few sharp words in private from Tillman's father.

-snip-

All that piece of shit Rumsfeld said to the family was "can we slip by". What a piece of human garbage. What a waste of oxygen that bastard is. What a criminal. I hope he rots his final days away in prison.

1. Yesteraday we were given the clearest possible illustration
of how deeply corrupt the Pentagon has become. It was beyond disgusting. It was stunning.

2. If a real and actual investigation were to be done..
about what's going on there, I'm quite confident that you would see dozens, if not hundreds, of people go to jail.

6. Like John Rendon. I didn't know why Dennis asked about them
and read a bit about the Rendon Group at sourcewatch.

And, I think DK is right. Their fingerprints are all over the Tillman case.

8. That's just one of countless others..
the contracting system there is so corrupt it's mindboggling. All it would take would be a few whistleblowers, and the whole thing could be blown wide open. Who knows where the trail would lead.

3. republicons HATE our troops and veterans
And they prove it over and over again.

I feel its because they are led by a deserter (AWOL Bush), and a Clown VP, Cheney, with 5 military deferments -- and a phalanx of chickenhawk propagandists: Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter, etc...

A shameful chickenhawk crew of Homelander republicons

4. He said, "Get away from me."

At one point, Pat Tillman Sr. told Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., in a low but furious voice, “Get away from me.”

Amazing restraint, if you ask me.

9. I agree
about the restraint. It would have been fantastic if Pat Sr. had knocked Issa flat on his ass!

5. I realize that this might be distasteful, but if I were Tillman's parents, I would
exhume his body and bring in forensic experts to find out if he was murdered.

7. The Tillmans look like very strong people. It wouldn't surprise me
if they are considering it.

12. Darrell "Crybaby" Issa was there?
Usually, he likes to keep at least three degrees of separation between himself and his victims. Maybe he wandered into the wrong room, looking for cupcakes or something?

14. The repukes on the "oversight" committee are beyond shameful.
Oversight is the last thing on their minds. They mostly wasted their questioning time praising Rummy or criticizing the work of the committee on which they supposedly "serve."

They know damn well most of their constituents will never see or hear about their pathetic ass-kissing.

If that hearing had been covered by the major networks - as it would have been if the Tillman death had happened on a Dem's watch - they might have been forced to do their job. The arrogance is just astounding.
