Too bad so may Minneapolis national Guardspeople are in Iraq
Along with the neighboring states. Every Minneapolis police officer is deployed there. Nice thing if you're a criminal.

Yeah, I am sure some criminals are going to capitalize on the opportunity. I guess I would rather see a little bit of looting and a good rescue though.

And this is precisely the kind of disaster the National Guard is supposed to respond to, so there's still some police presence in the rest of the city. Not just for looting but your ordinary murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries etc.

8. Lots of suburban police are responding
It's very close to downtown Minneapolis. There ARE police on the streets. Just got a report for a friend about 500 yards from the scene. Police being very effective, traffic management seems to be working. Impossible to get to the West Bank right now due to emergency traffic.
