6. I agree....the way the question was worded, Gore should be one of the choices
But the Best Choice would be CLARK!!

Gore/Clark Clark/Gore....so unstoppable they may as well cancell the election, except for one thing: it would be nice to see the biggest landslide in the history of the United States.

8. I'm leaning towards Bill Richardson
He has the diplomacy skills to rebuild our standing in the world. He can bridge the immigration debate better than anyone else, being the first Hispanic President of the United States. He has no history of gun-grabbing, while Clinton and Obama do.

He's a good man who deserves more of a listen.

25. I think Edwards is posing the issue of wage disparity particularly well,
Edited on Tue Jul-31-07 07:46 PM by pinto
his 'Two Americas' point was a take off point for him, imo. He's got a populist passion that is resonating with voters. Clinton's running a polished, and adept campaign. She has done very well in the debates. Calm, personable and assured in what little give and take there has been afforded. She has broader support than most people assume, as well, and understands the issues from an inside perspective, especially with her Senate tenure. Obama is a brilliant speaker, probably the most intellectual of the lot, is quickly learning the ropes, has considerable support and some good ideas. I think he will be a great politician and on our national stage for years to come.

I voted for Richardson in this poll. As the question was posed, I think in today's setting, with the collapse of foreign policy, a war that seems to have no end in sight nor clear objective, the inexperience throughout the federal administrative system, and general ineptitude at managing a large bureaucracy (while undermining it), Richardson may well present a reasoned, experienced choice.

That said, I don't think we have a poor choice in the lineup and will support any of our primary candidates that become our nominee.

27. IMO, wrong question...
I think any democrat wins by such a large margin, it is unquestionable (ergo the margin is to large for fraudulent activities to work without becoming apparent). This is the only time I have believed this in my adult life time (i.e., since I have had political awareness). To me, the question, is who is best qualified in undoing the damage wraught by the bushjr years.

28. John Edwards. If Edwards were to win our nomination I believe the
electoral map will go bluer than it's been in a long, long time.

I will be supporting our ticket on a no-matter-what basis but will cast a proud vote for Senator Edwards in the primary.

34. I Really Don't See The Electoral Map Changing Much...
I think it changes a bit but just enough swing things in our favor... New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado , Florida , and Virginia might go blue and that will be enough...

40. Hell, I'll take every one of those states you listed. If Richardson does not
become the nominee, his becoming the veep nominee is going to give us back New Mexico, likely by a comfortable margin. Republicans there are running scared, and properly so.

Napolitano can help us organizationally in Arizona. It's a tough fight there, but with McCain in national decline, and Goldwater long dead, it could be our time. Maybe we can have a watershed year in Arizona.

I'm thinking Colorado definitely. It's clear we're flirting hard with those voters and they gave us some encouraging results in recent statewide and congressional district races there. And just so they know we're serious, we're holding our convention in their largest city.

George Allen is likely still licking his wounds as more and more Democrats gain traction in Virginia. I'm for it. I know a good handful of people down there and they are energized to take that Senate seat and the whole state in 08.

John Edwards won't get many Southern and mid-Western white male swing votes. We have to have those to flip a state or two.

Unfortunately, neither will HRC or Obama.

41. None of the above. Brian Schweitzer.
He has executive experience in both government (governor of Montana) and private sector (rancher, irrigation contractor) roles.

He has experience in the international arena (he built the world's largest dairy farm in Saudi Arabia).

He speaks Arabic fluently.

He has the only workable plan for solving America's number-one problem, namely the need to wean ourselves from foreign oil.

He holds a college degree in a scientific discipline. So does his wife.

He can work with Republicans--his lieutenant governor is one.

So far as we know, Grandpa Schweitzer was never a Nazi, his father never armed Osama bin Laden, his wife never went out in Jack Nicholson's face and the Bag Lady's dress, and none of his kids' "drunk off your ass, smoking with one hand and punching people with the other" pictures have ever appeared in the National Enquirer.

And, so far as anyone knows, Brian Schweitzer does not own one garment with a picture of a Scotty Dog on it.

Oh, and speaking of dogs...Jag is WAY cooler than that...that thing Bush hauls around.

Assuming we can convince Governor Schweitzer that, inside the Beltway, a bolo tie is not dressed up. Here's the administration I want:

President Brian Schweitzer
Vice President Wesley Clark
Secretary of State Bill Clinton
Secretary of Agriculture Nancy Schweitzer
Surgeon General George Tiller (google "Tiller the Killer" and you'll see why...George Tiller is a late-term abortion doctor.)

42. Gore is not running.
And it's too late to wish for that.

John Edwards is the only Democratic candidate that can win in the general election.

Hilary and Obama have sucked up all the money, but they have no message, no promise, and no one believes anything they say.

'08 is crucial. It is time to focus.
