Beyond what is being said, we'd all be pissed and want the person tossed if there was a "McCain/Lieberman '08" sign back there, or a "Support Bush" sign. I don't know when congressional hearings became a sporting event where people can show up with signs. I'd like to think that these type of hearings raise the discussion level above catchphrases.

Little bit embarrassed to admit that I got Medea Benjamin's autograph on a Code Pink bumper sticker at the Media Reform conference in St. Louis 2 years ago. I kinda slunk up to the podium where she was waiting to talk, and she was most gracious to sign it. Then like an embarrassed groupie, I slunk back to my seat. But, am sure proud of that bumper sticker, and have it right here on my bulletin board by my puter next to 2 other stickers which say, "Not Our President" and "Keep Abortion Legal." Every time my bug-spray guy comes to spray, he shoots furtive looks at my bulletin board and gives me horrified looks. lol
