Edited on Mon Jul-30-07 06:57 PM by jg82567
...has prayed for 'vacancies' on the supreme court in the past and God sometimes answers prayers but not in the time and manner that we might wish. You would think someone who calls himself a preacher would know that better than anyone. Be careful what you ask for. Again, I wish good health and speedy recovery for Justice Roberts, but man it would be nice if he decided to 'spend time with his family' and resigned from the court. Sigh.

4. True, but the confirmation hearings would be very entertaining
this time around. I suspect that they would be much less deferential.

5. In all honesty I neither wish him good or ill. He believes corporations are individuals
which I believe are not in our best interest

The guy will help destroy the middle class, and as far as I am concerned I could care less about his welfare, because he could care less about mine

What comes around goes around

8. well said
the posturing here on DU can be outrageous at times. we complain constantly about how the repukes are criminals in the same league as nazis (which they are). then when one of the nazis gets sick, a few Duers forget about the death and destruction in iraq, the robbing of the national treasury to pay for rich peoples' tax breaks, the destruction of the environment, etc and instead they hold a candlelight vigil for the repuke.

10. I agree. Perhaps if they consider what they are doing to our children
that would put things in perspective

6. Great point! Hey, Pat - maybe God will listen to you for once.
A vacancy on the Court? I doubt this is what Pat had in mind, but be careful what you wish for.

13. I saw a clip of the sermon Ted Haggard gave a week of so before he was outed
He asked God that all the lies and hypocricies be revealed (he was referring vaguely to liberals). And God spake and He said "Okey, dokey Ted"

14. What happens in a deadlocked SC?
Especially since there's no way on God's green Earth that Motherfucker George Bush is going to put another of his fucked up nominees on the bench.

finally said they wouldn't approve anymore judges during the Bush term. I know more than a few people were praying for that for the Alito hearing.

God in His infinite wisdom.
