Upsetting the applecart:

Things are not getting better for most Americans. The status quo seems to help a dwindling minority, and, near as I can tell, two of the "top" three candidates are barely willing to admit this plain, simple fact. The rich are getting richer and the poor, well, we all know what the poor are doing.

One candidate is leading the pack in his willingness to take on the modern robber barons and he gets short shrift even here, this supposed bastion of liberal and progressive thought. Is it because he's currently running third, or because he's not afraid to rock the boat?

I wonder. America's greatest enemies aren't without, but within. They are the ones that advance themselves at the cost of their neighbors, and too many candidates are happy to hop into bed with them, even at the price of coming out with a certain type of parasitic flea known as "lobbyists."

"Sure, we'll help fund your campaign, but it'll cost you."

It'll cost ALL of us.

The vested powers of the oil industry, the insurance industry, and the pharmaceutical industry all pretty much agree. If we're going to have a Dem as President, ANYTHING is better than THIS guy. And the media is all too happy to help catapult the others into the front of the pack because it too has a vested interest in keeping the status quo.

Real boats rock.

If you think the middle path is the one to follow, by all means support your candidates. But if you think that we need BIG change in this country, not just to counter BushCo's excesses, then take a hard look at the one who's stated openly he's willing to take on the Powers-That-Be in the interest of the average American.

We need someone who speaks to all those who feel unrepresented, and I happen to think it's John Edwards.
